GATHERINGS

Many Christians have experienced some of their greatest times of growth at "get away times" focused on teaching, worship, and fellowship. The opportunities listed below are sponsored by an association of churches we team up with for this purpose. (For more information about this association, see the link on the left for Great Commission Churches.)

Faithwalkers

Faithwalkers is the "flagship" conference for anyone who desires grow in faith. The theme of the 2008 Conference is "Totally Committed". Again this year, there are two simulataneous conferences, one just outside of nearby Asheville, NC. Expect life-impacting teachings, dynamic worship, and exciting fellowship. Conference dates: December 27-30, 2008.

Leadership Training (LT)

LT is a summer-long program for college students. LT trains students to rely on God and live out their faith boldly for the rest of their lives. Each year LTs take place in a variety of locations. Each program is slightly different, but common features include living in community with other believers, working for local employers, experiencing powerful teachings, and learning to boldly share your faith. Students who have been through LT say their lives will never be the same.

High School Leadership Training (HSLT)

HSLT is a week-long summer program for high-school students. HSLT helps high-school students to develop a genuine and deep relationship with God, a solid foundation of Christian doctrine, ethics, and morality, proven character that will benefit their school work, home life and friendships, and a practical set of interpersonal and ministry skills. It's also a ton of fun!

Mission Trip to Clemson

After His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples that they would be His witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. This is exactly what happened. The gospel first became widely known in Jerusalem, and then it began to spread and spread to the surrounding areas. "Mission Trip to Clemson" is our ongoing outreach to our "Jerusalem." Periodically as a church we go knocking on doors in Clemson and in neighboring communities, offering care packages, prayer, support, and a clear explanation of the gospel to anyone who desires it. We also work with Clemson Community Care, a local relief agency, to help those with material needs. It's a bit scary to do this, but it is also exciting and immensely rewarding. And most of all, we are doing what Jesus said to do: be His witnesses.

MISSIONS

Short-term missions trips are opportunities for anyone with a heart for the lost to make a difference in world evangelism. These trips are one to two weeks in length. The trips are strategically coordinated to strengthen international churches and new church plants, and to help participants become more involved in evangelism and service back home.

Recent trips have been to Ecuador and Mongolia. During the trips to Ecuador, literally hundreds of people became believers, and a church now exists in a small, forgotten town in Ecuador as a result of these trips. The Mongolia trip involved strengthening and encouraging a young church in a country where only a tiny percentage of the people are Christians.

Many people who come back from short-term missions trips feel that they have been impacted at least as much as those to whom they have ministered. If you really want to grow in faith, prayerfully consider being a part of a short-term mission trip.
